Hypnotherapy & Medical Hypnotherapy Training

I offer group classes for Hypnosis Certification, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Integrative Medical Hypnosis. As an instructor for the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy, I offer certifications for both organizations. I also teach specialties at online and live conferences, and enjoy putting together customized training for medical professionals to integrate hypnosis into their practice.

Professional Hypnotherapy Course — March 19-24, 2019 in Seattle, Washington

What Sets This Training Apart?

My approach as a hypnotherapist in private practice is both goal-oriented and client-centered. My focus as a trainer reflects my experience working with thousands of clients to quickly create lasting changes.

Because no two people are alike, there is no  “one size fits all” hypnosis method … but that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated. You’ll learn principles and techniques that will benefit almost every client’s journey, such as tapping into creativity, giving emotional resources to the past without reliving trauma or pain. And along the way, make the most of the brain’s neuroplasticity to galvanize new choices. Through this training you will learn reliable methods to hypnotize anyone ethically and safely, and you’ll gain trust in your own skills to help your clients resolve old issues and release inner conflict.

Is This Training for You?

Are you new to hypnosis? The 100-hour certification course will give you the skills you need to launch a full or part-time practice. You’ll lay the foundation for live training with online coursework so once in the classroom, you’ll be ready to move beyond theory and into practical application, hypnotizing with confidence and purpose from day one. At the conclusion of the the 6-day live training, you’ll complete the requirements for certification through independent practice, and the completion of two final projects. Certification is through the International Certification Board for Clinical Hypnotherapy. Optional group mentoring is available to help with the business, marketing, and technology side to help you make the most of your training.

Have you already received hypnosis training? There are a lot of reasons to seek additional training — and whether you are filling in some gaps, gaining confidence or just looking for fresh perspectives, this course will have you practicing inductions, deepeners, and change work with assurance. We’ll discuss real-world challenges that can come up in sessions, and how to work through them.

Are you a medical, mental health, or other licensed practitioner? Hypnosis is a wonderful tool to integrate into your current practice and help people feel more comfortable and improve quality of life. Physicians, nurse practitioners, acupuncturists, chiropractors, physical therapists and psychologists can use hypnosis to help patients discover more hope, resilience, and comfort.

Migraine is the third most common disease in the world, and studies estimate that nearly 15% of the global population suffer with migraines. Not just a “bad headache,” migraine can be a complex array of pain, visual disturbances, and sensitivity to all stimulation – most sufferers are unable to work or function normally. Neurologists and patients are actively looking for alternatives to available medications (which often come with unpleasant side effects), and I’ve built a thriving practice on physician referrals. This is a condensed, content-rich session to equip you with the right questions to ask your clients, the tools to help them create change.

Application: Understand what’s happening in the body during a migraine, and learn techniques for heading off triggers, relax restricted blood vessels, and reversing the headache pattern

As the benefits of medical hypnosis are becoming more well known and widely accepted, the field is growing. So how do you prepare and present yourself to make the most of this niche? Within a year of opening my doors as a medical hypnotist, I was seeing clients full time, often booked out for six weeks. The formula I followed isn’t magic, it’s practical. In this talk I’ll share my building blocks, what worked (and what didn’t), and we’ll have a look at marketing for the future of medical hypnosis.
Students will leave this talk with:
  • Strategies to define and focus your practice
  • The practical value of confidence, integrity, and ethics
  • Presentation and image
  • Understand how to position yourself strategically
  • How NOT to communicate with doctors (and some how-to’s)

This online training is offered to hypnosis and birthing professionals. Become certified to teach this 2.5 hour class designed for pregnant women and new mothers. Developed by Kira Dorrian and Tracy Barrett Adams (each a mother of twins), this fun, practical class teaches easy and fast self-hypnosis techniques to  make the most of limited sleep, keep calm and balanced on challenging days, and find focus and mindfulness amidst the myriad of feelings that mothers face.

In addition to several easily learned, quickly utilized techniques, this course also provides mothers handouts with step-by-step instructions for all techniques covered in the class, and access to download several audio recordings. The syllabus comes complete with two different practitioner guides, giving you the flexibility to offer this class to pregnant moms-to-be or to mothers who have already had their babies.

“As a clinical social worker, over the years I have developed a very high bar when it comes to trainings, Kira and Tracy met or exceeded that bar with their compassion, enthusiasm and engaging way of sharing “their baby” i.e., HypnoMothering . . . They have put together an amazing curriculum that sets mothers up for success in a non-judgmental and accepting way. I feel fortunate that I am able to be a part of HypnoMothering”  Shannon Waliser, MSW
